Stove Top Cooking Instructions

  1. In medium saucepan bring 2 cups water to a boil.
  2. Stir in Roasted Brown Rice Couscous and seasoning.
  3. Cover saucepan with tight fitting lid and reduce heat to lowest setting.
  4. Cook 13-15 minutes. Do not lift lid.
  5. Remove from heat and let stand with the lid on for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff Roasted Brown Rice Couscous with a fork and serve.

Organic roasted brown rice, salt, dried onion, dried garlic, leeks, rice flour, molasses powder, rice concentrate, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, cumin, coriander, black pepper, and turmeric.

鍋で調理するなら、テフロン・フッ素加工等、焦げにくいものでないと、普通のステンレス?の鍋で指示通りに作ると必ず焦げてしまいます。といっても余り水を多くするとクスクスというより柔らかめのご飯になってしまいます。炊飯器で作ると、パッケージの指示よりかなり少ない水で作れるし焦げないのでいいのですが、どうしてもクスクスのパラッとした感じは出にくいようです。私がこのシリーズで色々なやり方を試した中では、やはり底面の焦げ付きを我慢して指示通りの水量を入れて鍋で作るのが一番パラッとできました。焦げにくい加工の鍋がある方はそれを使うと良いでしょう。また、全部使い切ってから気づきましたが、少量ならフライパン(テフロン加工)で作ってみると焦げやすい鍋より上手くできるかもしれません。 でも、普通の小麦のクスクスならお湯を注いでふやかしておくだけで良いと友人から聞いたので、それが本当なら、小麦を受け付けない体質でない限りは、全粒小麦のクスクスを選んで食せば良いような気もしました。
